As the officer who interacts directly with cadets throughout the year, the ANO plays a crucial role in implementing NCC training, mentoring cadets, and ensuring the effective execution of NCC activities at the institution level.
To prepare teachers for this responsibility, the NCC conducts specialized training at two premier institutions:
- Officers Training Academy (OTA), Kamptee, Maharashtra
- Women Officers Training Academy (WOTA), Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh
These academies provide professional training to school and college teachers selected to serve as ANOs and lead NCC companies or troops. The training equips them with the knowledge, leadership skills, and military orientation required to effectively guide and motivate cadets.
