About Department
Mr. KVR Satya Sai
M. Tech (Remote Sensing),
(Ph.D)
Head of the Department,
Department of Civil Engineering
This Civil Department was started in 2009 with basic equipment for Undergraduate Course. From start, Civil Engineering Laboratories has been modified and updated several times to changing syllabus and technology. In addition to classrooms and laboratories, we have independent computer lab to train the students and faculty to learn new softwares of future needs.
To become a place of learning for imparting technical education of international standards and for conducting research on cutting edge technologies to meet the Global Challenges.
strives to:
- Prepare globally competent and successful civil engineers.
- Provide in-depth knowledge and skills in the technical areas pertaining to civil engineering.
A student will be able to
- Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- Design/Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
- Modern Tool Usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
- The Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- Environment and Sustain ability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
- Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
- Individual and Team Work: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multi-disciplinary settings.
- Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
- Project Management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multi-disciplinary environments.
- Life-long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.
The current Civil Engineering educational objectives were developed as part of the program’s ongoing efforts to maintain through innovation an program that meet the needs of our constituents. The educational objectives of the Civil Engineering program are :
PEO 1 : To provide students with a sound foundation in mathematical and scientific subjects, which are necessary prerequisites for a clear and sound understanding of Civil Engineering as a whole and to encourage those students who are motivated to go for post graduate programs on the branch of their interest. Those wishing to enter services through competitive examination should also be encouraged.
PEO 2 : To provide the students with a comprehensive and balanced understanding of the several branches of civil engineering such as structural engineering , Geo technical engineering, Transportation engineering, Hydraulic and water resources engineering, Environmental engineering and engineering breadth to create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.
PEO 3 : To prepare graduates in Civil Engineering for successful careers dealing with analysis, design and management of infrastructural projects. It must also help them to develop an intelligent understanding of the theoretical bases of various coder provisions in design, construction and maintenance
PEO 4 : To create an understanding among the student body the values of lifelong learning and to inculcate in them professional ethics, moral values and social concern.
PEO 5 : To provide opportunities to students to work in interdisciplinary project across the various branches of Civil Engineering.
