LIBRARY & INFORMATION CENTRE

The students are advised to follow the library timings strictly.

  • The students must carry their college identity card with that all time in a Library card shown compulsory at the time of books Issue – Return procedure.
  • Maximum three Books will be issued for all the students for a period of 15 days.
  • Books having same Title will not be issued simultaneously.
  • A Book once returned by a student will not be issued to the same or any other student on the same day.
  • The students are not allowed to borrow books on the card of another student.
  • Reference copies, Reference Books Previous year question papers, Syllabus, Magazines / Journals and other material will be issued for Photostat.
  • Any Book damage making misplacing of pages etc should be brought in the notice of Library staff at the time of issuing otherwise person who get it issued lost time will be responsible.
  • No issues –returns after 6:00p.m

Reference service is the supreme and ultimate function of the library.  This is infact hub of all library activities.  Reference service is sometimes referred to as “Reference and Information Services” or “Reader Service”.

The Reference service was defined by Dr. S.R. Ranganathan as “Reference service is a personal service to each reader in helping him to find the documents answering the interest at the movement pinpointedly, exhaustively and expeditiously”. In his view providing reference service means making contact with the right user and the right book at the right time and in the right personal way

Almanac:A Book Introduction for Specific field of ten by data.
Atlas:A Set of Maps obtained by Geography.
Dictionary:All alphabetically listing of words and their definitions.
Directing:A List of Reference.
Encyclopedia:A Comprehensive Compendium.
Thesaurus:A List of words with similar, related, or opposite meaning

  1. The Books are issued to students under Book-Lending Scheme (Book Bank) subject to the following conditions.

    1.No Name should be written anywhere on the Book (However, if a student so desires, He / She may write the Name with pencil on the first page of the Book or a wrapper may be put on the book and the Name written on it).

    2. No Pages in the Book should become shabby crumpled or torn off. If the Book does not satisfy the requirement, the institute rejects the return of the Book at the end of Year/Semester by the students and the cost of the Book will be recovered from the student.

    3.Students are required to return all the Reference Books and also Books taken under Book – Bank Scheme from the Library after end of the External Examinations as per the Schedule.

  1. In addition to the Central Library, departments have their own Library. This contains important titles, volumes and Journals in the respective branches of study. Students and Staff are advised to fully utilize these books and Journals for further enhancement of their subject knowledge books and Journals will not be issued any one, but are available only for reference.  Department Library HOD and faculty Incharge controls the functionality of department Library.
